What are transition lenses?
These lenses contain photochromic dyes that rapidly activate and darken when exposed to UV light. The lens changes its shade depending on the intensity of the UV light present. The greater the intensity of the UV light, the darker the lens becomes. The lens then fades back to clear when you go indoors where there is no UV.
Benefits of transition lenses
- It allows for an effortless transition from clear lenses indoors to dark lenses outdoors.
- They continuously and smoothly adapt their level of tint in changing lighting conditions for better visual comfort.
- It blocks 100% UVA and UVB rays. It filters blue-violet light (400-455nm) indoors and outdoors.
- It darkens in seconds.

- Lenses darken up to 85% outdoors and fade back to clear quicker than previous lens generation.
- It is as clear as a clear lens indoors.

Transitions Colour Touch: Newly released
- Starts with a subtle tint indoors and darkens to a sunglass lens when fully activated.
- Two choices: starting with a light washed tint or a gradient tint
- Available in 5 colours (Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Amethyst, Amber)
Transitions XTRActive: Works in the car.
- Provides extra protection from light outdoors, indoors and even in the car!
- There is a hint of tint to better filter blue-violet light indoors.
- The only photochromatic lens that achieves category 3 level of darkness.
- Suitable if you are more light sensitive
- Available in 3 colours only (Grey, Graphite green, Brown).
Transitions XTRActive Polarised
- The darkest everyday lens, and they darken up to 90% outdoors.
- Polarised lenses for sharper vision, vivid colours and large view outdoors.
